This is in reference to Defense Minister Bidhya Bhandari's statement against integrating Maoist combatants into the national army.
It should be reminded that she is a Minister not a politician giving speech and shouting with gesticulation. Her statement as a Defense Minister may as well have no pragmatic impact. But she has shown her status that she does not care for this nation and people aspiring for a lasting peace and development. The bulk integration is somewhat hard to digest but there must be integration under any circumstances. Maximum number of PLA soldiers should be integrated because the national army is for all Nepalese, not only for UML, Bidhya Bhandari or the high officials of NA or former army officials.
Bidhya Bhandari is a naive leader and a blunt minister. She thinks that the army should avoid integration and declare war again. Whereas PM Nepal's stance against Bhandari's statement that came the next day was praiseworthy. PM Nepal must have realized that he made a mistake by giving Bhandari the Defense portfolio.
