MRP deal signed finally

Friday, 27 August: The government has signed an agreement with the French company Oberthur Technologies to print the Machine Readable Passports.
Mukti Nath Bhatta, chief of protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Flourine Pacqueline, Asia Market Director of the company singed the deal.
The company will be required to print 4 million copies of MRP by 2015.

Life threat to journalist Bhandari
Sunday, 29 August: Banke correspondent of Annapurna Post and central member of Nepal Press Union Damodar Bhandari received a death threat from Tarai Loktantrik Party Madhesh Banke.
The armed group has charged journalist Bhandari of spying against the party.

Five spotted deer found dead
Sunday, 29 August: Five spotted deer known as Chital were found dead at Bardiya National Park in the afternoon. A lab test of these Chitals confirmed they died of poisoning.

Two criminals arrested
Monday, 30 August: Police have arrested two experienced criminals that had been involved in extortion from Sorakhute of the capital. Nima Khalan of Makawanpur and Buddhi Tamang of Kavre were arrested.  

Defense Minister Bhandari on UNMIN

Monday, 30 August: Defense Minsiter Bidhya Devi Bhandari has spoken the unexpected saying the term of the United Nations Mission in Nepal could be extended for three months.
However, the Minister has said that Nepal Army should remain free from UNMIN's surveillance.
Bhandari is known to be a staunch supporter of NA and a critic of UNMIN.
