Nepal-China Media Forum (NCMF) has expressed deep concern on the provocation by some forces on the South China Sea issue by ignoring China-Philippines bilateral agreements and declarations in conduct of the parties in the South China Sea.
A statement issued by NCMF general secretary Govinda Acharya stated that the Forum firmly believes that China is committed towards mutual cooperation and harmony among its neighbouring countries and China highly regards peace, development and stability as the theme of era.
“Some of the forces are active to tarnish the image of China on territorial issue,” the Forum said.
“As per the concern over the South China Sea, China says its right to the era goes back centuries to when the Paracel and Spratly island chains were regarded as integral parts of the Chinese nation, and in 1947, she issued a map detaining its claims. The pact between China and Philippines indeed a landmark to settle down the dispute on South China Sea issues, unfortunately, Philippines has betrayed on middle and she is helping to add kerosene on burning fire,” the Forum said.
The Forum believes that China has shown her pivotal role in resolving the South China Sea issue and the roadmap sketched by China on South China Sea would certainly help ASEAN countries’ prosperity and development.
