Indian ambassador Ranjit Rae is said to be returning home after completing his tenure here. Of late, Rae has been dragged into controversy as he is being alleged for intervening in Nepal’s internal affairs. After last week’s lunch meeting with the Madheshi Front leaders, some student leaders belonging to the opposition party called on Foreign Minister Prakash Saran Mahat and handed over a memorandum letter demanding to send back the Indian envoy.
To recall, Rae is the same official who had actively coordinated on behalf of India to endorse the controversial 12-point agreement.
