The government has decided to withdraw cases against those who were alleged for being involved in killing eight on-duty security officials including senior Police SP in Kailali two years ago. Furthermore, the government has decided to withdraw all criminal cases filed against protesters alleged of being involved in the violence and killings during the Madhes movement. From the government decision granting impunity to the culprits, several questions have been raised. If killers of those government security personnel will get impunity through the government decision, why is the court needed? With which morale the security forces will be mobilized for maintaining law and order, peace and security in the country? If PM Dahal and NC supremo’s relatives were killed in those incidents, were they ready to give impunity to those who were involved in such heinous killings?
