Although, it was highly believed that as the political parties in India have become busy for the general elections in 2019, the Indian establishment will try to develop good relations with its small neighbouring countries by performing non-interference policy, particularly in Nepal’s case until the elections are over. But, according to some sources, Indians have become active to topple-down Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the government and also from the party.
Different sources have claimed that the Nepal Army’s non-participation on the BIMSTEC military exercise held in Pune, India, has seriously hurt Indian Prime Minister Narendra Maodi.
The cancellation of Nepal’s participation at the last hours has seriously humiliated Indian PM Modi, said a highly placed source.
As a result of Nepal’s non-participation in the joint military exercise, Nepal witnessed the announcement of a free Madhesh by CK Raut along with devious role of RJP, which is believed to be an Indian brainchild.
Earlier, the Indian establishment had adopted the policy of pleasing KP Sharma Oli by accepting all the agendas put forwarded by him. Of late, the Indians have reached to the conclusion that Oli is not a trustworthy leader and he can never be India’s confidante.
As a result, the Indian establishment performed red-carpet welcome to CPN co-chairman Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda in Delhi. Dahal was highly inspired from the hospitality shown to him and his spouse by the Indian establishment. It is surprising to note that Dahal had a three hour long meeting with Indian national security council advisor Ajit Dhovel and also one hour long meeting with Indian PM Modi. Dahal was treated as the prime minister in waiting.
After Dahal, there are speculations that Indians have reached out to Madhav Kumar Nepal to unite dissatisfied leaders in the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN). Nepal firstly criticized on non-performance of the government at a public meeting. Then after, Nepal addressed the parliament criticizing the government. Immediately after that, Nepal hosted a tea reception for the standing committee members of the party. At the tea reception, Nepal presented a written statement against the government. The next day, he organised a meeting of the central committee members of the party.
Now, Nepal is developing a front comprised of the leaders who are dissatisfied with Oli. The Front is planning to organize a nationwide awareness programme against Oli.
Meanwhile, Prachanda is seen neutral in this initiative. Sources say that the Indian efforts will be to bring Nepal and Prachanda close and develop an environment for sharing the government and the party between Prachanda and Nepal.
On the other hand, Nepal is planning to bag a majority in the existing central committee of the party and recalling Oli from the government and also from the party’s co-chairmanship.
    Possible scenarios:
Sources close to Delhi have even analysed on a possible political development that the demand for independent madhesh will be further intensified; the demand for amendment of the constitution will take momentum from No 2 province; agitation will be intensified in No 2 province.
Accordingly, within his own party, there will emerge a strong opposition against Oli.
The hidden design of the Indians is to stop signing the transit and transportation agreement between Nepal and China and also to stop the Chinese on the Budhigandaki hydropower project. The Indians believe that if Oli will remain in power, India cannot stop from signing on the transit and transportation agreement and also the Chinese involvement in Budhigandaki project.
