Nepali cricket team scripted history as they won first One Day International Series and their first Twenty20 International Series by defeating UAE.
Nepal wrapped up their tour of UAE on a high note as they won the T20I series by 2-1 on Sunday a few days after their first One Day International Series win by 2-1 against UAE.
Earlier, Nepal lost their T20I Series against Hong Kong in 2014 and the Netherlands in 2015.
The team was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon their homecoming on Monday.
Nepal trounced the host by 14 runs in their last match of the series at ICC Academy, Dubai on Sunday. After losing the first match by 21 runs, Nepal came back winning the second T20I by four wickets to level the series.
They had received similar wins in the ODI after losing the first match to host UAE.
Two Nepali players also set a record in the cricket. Nepal’s Rohit Paudel became the youngest player in international cricket to hit a half-century.
At the age of just 16 years and 146 days, Paudel top-scored for hitting 55 runs. Earlier, the record was in the name of Sachin Tendulkar of India and Sahid Afridi of Pakistan.
