(RSS): A 16-day ‘German Energy and Transition Exhibition’ programme has been organized on the occasion of 60th establishment year of Nepal-German bilateral relations. The event organized in Lalitpur today was jointly inaugurated by the Minister for Energy Barsha Man Pun and German ambassador to Nepal Ronald Schafer.
While addressing the programme, Minister Pun said that the government was prioritizing to generate adequate energy to translate the government’s motto of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali”. Minister Pun praised the assistance of German to Nepal in various areas. He added that the German support in constructing Mid-Marshyangdi and Marshyangdi hydro projects were important to Nepal.
Speaking in the same programme, Ambassador Schafer believed that the exhibition would be beneficial to Nepal as the country was achieving the pace of development and industrialization.
The German Ambassador also shared that the energy sector was the backbone of Nepalese economy. Germany is supporting in renewable energy sector in various rural areas in Nepal through GIZ programme.
