About twenty per cent of the Aurn III Project work has been completed following the completion of a year of the project’s inauguration.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had jointly inaugurated the construction of project, last year on May 13th by pressing a switch from Kathmandu.
Lately, the project construction has been going on full swing. As a result, twenty per cent of work has already been completed, informed Satluj Hydro Power Corporation, the Indian company that had won the contract to build the project.
The Arun III, a 900MW project, is expected to complete within five years with an estimated budget of Rs. 120 billion.
On the basis of construction being done in 12 different places, twenty per cent of work has already been completed, asserted Arun III Construction Company. Jaya Prakash Associates has taken over the construction work in Phyaksida construction site in dam side while Patel Engineering Company has taken over the construction in power house construction site, Diding.
The construction of supporting tunnel of 504 metres has been completed in Phyaksida confluence, Makalu Rural Municipality, while the construction of the main tunnel is underway, notified the Arun III Project office.
Satluj Company stated that the construction of up to 380 metres of the main tunnel was complete. Excavation works at 8 different places are being carried out for the construction of 11km long tunnel. Construction of tunnel up to 197 metres has completed in those places, told the company.
