Literate Baika Thapaliya has bagged this year’s Jasuda Memorial Award.
The meeting of the Bhanu Prativa Samrakchan and Sahittya Sambardhan Samiti, Ilam, chaired by literate Bimal Bidhaya held on 20 June has decided to reward Thapaliya with the Award.
Thapaliya from Chamaita, Ilam, East Nepal, is a youth contributing in the literary field.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of pioneer poet Bahanubhakta Acharya, 29 Asar (13 July) the Award will be handed over to Thapaliya in Ilam amidst a function.
The Award consist a purse worth 10,001 rupees along with a letter of appreciation.
Last year, youth poet Anwesh Thulung was rewarded with the Award.
The Award has been established by the Jasuda Memorial Fund, Kathmandu, in collaboration with Bhanu Prativa Samrakchan Samiti, Ilam, in fond memory of senior journalist late Jasuda Prachan at her birthplace, Ilam with the idea of encouraging local youths in the field of creative writing and journalism.
