Corruption case filed against TU official

  • Kathmandu, 8 July: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against the staffer involved in selling of gold medal of Tribhuvan University (TU) Ram Bahadur Karmacharya and student Surendra Prasad Koirala.
    Acting campus chief of Baneshwore Multiple Campus, Shantinagar has also been charged of corruption.
    According to CIAA, Koirala, a part-time teacher at Bhaktapur Multiple Campus, had paid Rs 150,000 to Karmacharya to help him get the gold medal in economics. Koirala had also paid Rs 300,000 to Karmacharya to help his friend Kedar Bhattarai pass the examinations.
