Kathmandu, 21 July: As the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police are minutely investigating into the Lalita Niwas land grab scam and illegal transfer of state’s property to private ownership, people responsible for such unlawful acts are in wanted list of both CIAA and CIB and are at large.
According to Naya Patrika daily, both CIAA and CIB are searching former Minister for Physical Infrastructure Bijay Kumar Gachhedar for interrogation but he has been absconding and in incommunicado. As CIAA and CIB summoned him for interrogation, he went to India on June 30 and left India for United States from there. He returned to India and instead of coming home he is now in Chenni. He is simply trying to avoid CIAA and CIB’s grilling. If he continues absconding, both anti-graft bodies will issue a public notice in mainstream media. Both bodies are mulling to publish a public notice for recording of statement.
In the meanwhile, CIAA is all set to summon former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal for recording of statement in the same case.
The former chief of CIAA Deep Kumar Basnyet too tried to avoid the recording of statement in the beginning but was compelled to attend at the CIAA as it threatened him of publishing a public notice in his name.
