Mega Bank Nepal Limited has entered into 10th year of operation.
On the occasion of its anniversary celebration on Tuesday in the capital, bank chairman Bhoj Bahadur Shah expressed satisfaction over the steady growth of the bank and motivated all the staff members for excellent performance.
Presenting the progress report of the bank in the last nine years he informed that the extention of branches have incresed into 8 fold, ATM networking expansion into 6 fold, 16 fold in deposit collection and 15 fold in lending. The tax amount that the bank deposited in the state coffer has increased by 78 times and profit has reached by 70 times whereas employment generation has been augumented by 11 fold.
He added that the bank has adopted the federal structure and is in process of establishing Province Headquarters in each province and extend banking service not only in district Headquarters but also in economic hubs across the country.
He expressed firm commitment to promote investment in agriculuture, tourism and water resources , as per the priority set by the government. With regard to merger, he shared that a committee has been constituted to look in the matter.
Also speaking at the program, Anupama Khunjeli, CEO of the bank, voewed to take the bank to a new height in terms of capital formation and delivery of financial services across the nation. She extended gratitude to all mentors and staff members for working sincerely resulting the bank that stands one of the leading brands in the banking sector of Nepal in short period and has assured that the bank will focus on the customer-oriented services by gaining confidence from the customers.
Meanwhile, the bank has provided the financial support of Rs 100,000 to Pourakhi Nepal, an NGO working to provide quality education and Tshering Tawa Buda, from Upper Dolpa for higher education, as part of its corporate social.
