Kathmandu, 15 August: Renowned litterateur and journalist Madan Mani Dixit has passed away on Thursday at the age of 97. A family member told Onlinekhabar that Dixit breathed his last at around 4 am in his house in Kalikasthan.
Dixit who was suffering from pneumonia was admitted to Sumeru Hospital in Lalitpur last week but was discharged on Wednesday. Even at the age of 97, Dixit still loved to read and write. His final rites will be performed at Pashupati temple on Thursday.
Dixit has around 46 literary creations to his name amongst which Madhavi, Rigveda, Kehi Pramukh Sukti and Gas Chamberko Mrityu are famous. Dixit is also a recipient of Madan Puruskar, Sajha Puruskar and Padmashree Puruskar for his outstanding contributions to the Nepali literary world.
