A timely alarm for Nepalis

On/Off the Record

By P.R. Pradhan

Rajesh Mishra, Nepal’s noted journalist, known to be pro-Nepali Congress, who is currently settled down in the USA, citing his sources here, stated, “All the political parties in Parliament – from those having three seats to the largest one – according to their strength, received from five to 26 crore rupees from the Southern Embassy here”.

“In this regard, the election in 2084 BS is likely to be the last election for the Nepalis just like the Sikkimis in the past,” Mishra stated.

If Mishra’s information is correct, Nepal is going to be a part of India soon after the 2084 general elections.

On 4 February, Pakistani Ambassador Abrar Hashmi, describing recent atrocities and severe human rights violations in India occupied Jammu & Kashmir, said, “Today, the people in IOJK are the victims, who know, who is the next victim of Indian expansionism?”

Despite different types of threats, including possible international terrorist groups’ attacks on India via Nepali soil, India has kept the Nepal-India border open. The Nepal government is against open borders. The Eminent Persons’ Group (EPG) has recommended for regulating the open border for the benefit of both countries. The Indian government has denied receiving the EPG report for the last five years.

On Friday, those members of the EPG from the Nepal side and former foreign ministers discussed the EPG report which has not been unveiled for the past five years. They concluded that if the Indian government doesn’t receive the report, the Nepal government should receive it and unveil it to the public. If the Nepal government also denies receiving the report, then the EPG members should unveil it to the public.

The EPG report is considered to be a document which would help to resolve problems between the two countries, Nepal and India.

The Indian attitude is clear. They are cutting one after another feather of Nepal which helps to fly the country as a sovereign and independent nation.

Nepal’s economy is highly dominated by Indian imports. If India will stop the supply of petroleum products for one day, there will be a hue and cry in Nepal. Of late, Nepal is solely dependent on India for food grains and vegetables. Nepal’s economy has already fallen under the trade deficit trap and the revenue received by the country is not enough even to manage current account expenditure. The debt amount has become double in the past five years. There is no sign of recovery in the economic indicators. The India-puppet government has introduced a new citizenship law. The Indians used their own man President Ramchandra Paudel for activating an already expired citizenship bill and approved it unconstitutionally in the course of serving the Indian interests. When the nation fails to function its organs, helpless Nepal should surrender to India. And India is seeking options for peaceful and bloodless annexation of Nepal.

We have the President who is keen to serve the Indian interests. We have the Prime Minister, who is alert for an Indian “comfortable” government in Nepal.

If Rajesh Mishra’s information is true, the next parliament would pass a resolution asking India for Nepal’s merger into the Indian Union.

The Kashmiri people are brave and are fighting against the Indian atrocities since India occupied the independent nations Jammu and Kashmir forcefully. The Kashmiri people are continuing their struggle. India, against the commitment expressed by it for a plebiscite on the fate of Jammu and Kashmir, in 2019, removed the “special” status given to Kashmir. The amendment of the Indian constitution from Parliament and sealing that by the President were conducted through a fast track. Within hours, the task was done.

The story of Sikkim is different. India has been pouring money to shut up the mouths of the Sikkimi people. Indian intelligence has been deployed to spy on every citizen in Sikkim. One chief minister from Sikkim expressed the plight of the people in Sikkim that they lost their sovereign country. Today, they are being treated as a second-class citizen. He claimed that none of the Sikkimi people has been rewarded to the top post in the civil service, nor a minister in the federal government of India.

The question is are we ready for a peaceful handover of this sovereign and independent nation? Are we ready to become the slave of those British slaves? Are we ready for becoming second-class citizens within our motherland?

Until now, it is up to us how to fail the Indian grand design. Let’s not wait for tomorrow to regret it!
