Kathmandu, February 10: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha launched e-visa and online payment service for obtaining new visas and extending visas.
The Immigration Department has started providing automated services to the Immigration Administration completely online as of Friday, February 10. With the fully digitized and automatic operation of the Immigration Department and its offices, both those who receive and give the service at the office can receive it at home.
The department has informed that it is preparing to use digital signatures from handwritten signatures from the month of Magh.
Nilhari Bastola, President of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAN) has been the first customer of the online payment service launched by the Department.

Now there is no need to come to the customer service department except for non-tourist visas based on relationship and marriage. All the process will be done online, and finally, a visa sticker can be affixed by the Department or any immigration office in Nepal.
Speaking at the launch event, Home Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai said that he is on a mission to provide automated and online services to the services under the Ministry of Home Affairs, including immigration.
