Kathmandu, February 26: Afreen Akhter, the US deputy assistant secretary of state in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and the Maldives and the Office of Security and Transnational Affairs, arrived in Kathmandu for a two-day official visit today.
During the visit, he will discuss with the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ISIMOD) and Energy Nepal’s partners, according to reports.
It is said that she will meet with the Nepalese army and government officials. Similarly, she is scheduled to discuss the issues of climate change, clean energy, humanitarian aid and disaster response, as well as promoting democracy, human rights, and mutual economic prosperity.
