
Kathmandu, July 14: Amidst a function organized on the occasion of the Adikabi Bhanubhakta Acharya’s 211th anniversary on July 13, noted creative writer and poet from Mirik, Darjeeling, India, Bijaya Bantawa Kailashi, was felicitated with the Jasuda Memorial Award-2024.
Deputy mayor of the Ilam Municipality, Bishnu Dahal handed over a purse with a cash prize worth 13 thousand rupees and a letter of appreciation to Kailashi.
Kailashi’s poem collection “Rishanabhu”, essay collection “Kchitij Khojdai” short story collection “Joonko Hatya”, novel “Bharmit, etc have been published.
The late Jasuda Khaki Pradhan, managing editor of the People’s Review weekly, passed away in 2010. As Jasuda was from Ilam, the award is being given to journalists and creative writers from Ilam and nearby areas.
The program was organized by the Ilam Municipality Art, Literature, Music Academy, Ilam.
Bimla Baidhya and Prakash Thamsuhang shed light on the recipient of the award and also on the contribution of the late Jasuda Khaki Pradhan.
